In 2014, I built a wooden cabin from discarded art-transport crates and lived there for six months while finishing my doctoral thesis in physics. That project, Una cabaña para acabar la tesis, explored concentration, time and the relation between scientific thought and physical action.
In 2025, Centre d’Art La Panera invited me to present a mid-career retrospective. I responded by closing the circle: if the cabin served to finish the thesis in 2014, the thesis — now transformed into an artist’s book and catalogue — serves to finish the cabin.
I built the new structure from materials accumulated in my studio: wood, tools, drawings, previously shown pieces, fragments of unfinished projects and residues of working processes. Brought together within a single body, they flatten the hierarchy between artwork, material, tool and remainder.
A typewriter and a long typed roll reproduce my real dialogue with ChatGPT, curator of the exhibition. Two theses — my physics dissertation from 2014 and the new publication — sit inside the same temporal loop, where art and science, measurement and error, process and result fold into a palindrome.
