During my residency at the Museum of Contemporary Art Zagreb, I asked the museum to keep the office paper that would normally be discarded in its recycling bins: sketches, printouts, working copies, notes and documents without archival status.
After a month, the accumulated paper weighed 25 kg — approximately the amount of paper that can be produced from one tree used by the paper industry. The material was compacted into a large spherical mass: a ball of information that had lost its original function while retaining physical traces of the institution’s everyday activity.
The work connects tree, paper, information, accumulation and institutional memory through a single measurable quantity.
